Can we meet?
Before booking me I do prefer Skype.. I live on a farm near York so it's a bit of a hike for potential bookings. However if you're really keen to book and meet I can offer weekday meetings in Mundaring to Guilford area during weekday school hours or Monday evenings.
I do offer a free engagement shoot with my packages so that is a great way to meet before the day and see how I work and to get some practice infant of the lens.
What do we get?
All packages you get your digital images on USB, one folder all in high resolution and another at a perfect web sharing size. You also get a few proof prints of my selecting to give you a taste of professional printing.
All images are individually edited by me to take on a film like less digital look, you will get one set of colour and one set in black and white.
No you don't get the RAW files, I find the editing process just as important as the shooting and both combined are the end result I'll be proud to pass on to you
Is it just you?
Yes, but you can choose to book a second shooter (min of 4 hours), second shooters don't shoot on their own they stay with me as they are more just a second perspective and don't take on the responsibility of lead on the day.
Where do you shoot?
Anywhere in Australia I live in the Avon Valley, between Northam and York. I mainly shoot in Perth and down South. Travel fee's apply outside of the Perth, Avon Valley catchment.
Same sex couples?
Honoured to photograph your wedding day and family shoots.
When do we get it?
You usually get a sneak peek within a week up on Facebook and Instagram, ( i love if you can tag and share as it immensely helps my business) then within 6-12 weeks you'll have all your images. (usually less for just image packages, a little longer if Albums are ordered)
How do we book?
Let me know the coverage you'd like and I can send you a little bit of paperwork. Once that is returned I send you an invoice for the first instalment. Once paid your date is all yours and no other appointments will be taken for that day. Just remember your date is only secure once I have your contract and deposit.
Do you do engagement sessions?
Yes! For free, so ask for a welcome package there is a little catch. Or you can choose your location and I will offer a little discount off my standard session fee. Bookings to be made on weekdays only.
We are getting married interstate?
I can travel. Get in touch for a personalised quote. I'm happy to travel anywhere in Australia.
Depending on the location I can tailor a package.
Do we need to feed and water you?
Yes please on a full day booking, you don't want a hangry photographer. It's a very long day for me, I do try and pack some snacks and water but hauling around 14kgs of gear all day is very hard work. Also I'm vegan so it's greatly appreciated if that can be catered for, I'm happy to have vegetarian if that's too hard with the carters <3
We are shy awkward in front of a camera?
Please don't stress, I want you to just be yourselves I will help you with gentle guidance. I prefer capturing real moments rather than too posed, usually I make my couples walk, hug, snuggle, kiss and interact with each other, I want you to get a little carried away and caught up in the moment, forget that I'm there and kiss how you'd normally kiss, drink each other in with your eyes and how you touch and I'll do the work to capture that. And if you're awkward that works too because it's you.
Hopefully after I have been there for a few minutes you'll forget I'm even there.
How long do we need for our bridal shoot? And when is the best time?
An hour of shooting time is plenty for one or maybe two close by locations, although please factor in travel time to get to locations and a bit extra time if you have a large bridal party or a few stops. If your session doesn't fall in that last bit of light of the day I highly advise factoring in 15min at sunset to step away from your reception to capture that light!! The best light is that hour and a half before sunset, it's also my favourite.
If you are drawn to my darker work think wisely about your ceremony location and time of day, if it's in a building or church that won't matter as much but if you are having a garden/outside wedding it's best when light and shadows are softer so look at early morning or 2/3 hours before sunset depending how much time you want for bridal portraits and family formals.
How long for family formals?
Usually 20min and try to keep that list to no more than 15 groups. Have someone that can round up each group ready and waiting and we will get through it with ease. Family formals take place after the ceremony at that location. Also tell those that are needed before the day so they don't head off and are missed.
How many weddings do you do?
I try and only book 3 a month so I don't burn out, I can balance my home life and I can edit and deliver my images in a timely manner. Also engagement shoots, the odd family shoot and with editing my own images and running the business side of things keeps me full time.
Do we need to give you a shoot list?
If there are one or two things of REAL importance that you can't have missed please let me know. But I shoot by documenting the day how it naturally unfolds. A shot list takes the spontaneity out of it, and won’t allow me to be as creative as I find it more stressful.
All I need is a detailed timeline for the days events and all the important addresses and phone numbers, and a list of which family portraits you’d like taken. You can leave the rest up to me – don’t worry.
I'll send you a questionnaire about a month out from the wedding that will have most details I need to know about.
Special items you want photographed just have ready for me on the day and let me know.
Do you offer albums?
Yes I do, you can choose your images once you have them and I'll design it for you. Or you can leave it up to me.
Will you put us on social media?
Yes, to keep prices lower we have to do self promotion through social media. Each wedding shown generates a number or enquiries and bookings. If we can't show your wedding that is loss of revenue for the business. I generally don't take bookings that aren't happy to show off their day and my work unfortunately.
What gear do you use?
My main weapons are
1 Nikon D850 Bodie (work horse)
1 Nikon D750 (backup)
Fuji film xt3 body (my new love and second workhorse for those quick documentary candid moments and for being unseen)
Fuji film XT2 body
SB700 flashes x 2
Vendors that i hightly recommend, not only are these people amazing at what they do they are a dream to work with and just darn lovley.
