Hey my names Melissa, most call me Mel.
I'm a wedding photographer based on a large farm not far from the Perth, I'm married to a farmer and mum to two. I'm a red wine lover, wannabe minimalist, that's trying to eat more plants (update I am now vegan!). I'm very easy going, I'm quiet and like to live a simple life.
Photography is such a passion and I believe it's something we should leave behind for our loved ones. I love natural beauty, when people don't realise I'm there snapping their beautiful joy, love, laughter, fun and tears.
The journey into photography.... well before photography I was a hairdresser for 17yrs and for a good part of that time ran my own salon in Wembley, then I got into bridal hair and makeup then making hairpieces, this lead me to picking up a camera and I fell in love, it gave me a voice, I'd give anything to be able to write ( but I can't, like at all that is why my about me sucks a**) photography gives me a way to express myself.

Photography Style | Organic | Candid | Timeless. Western Australian Based, Perth wedding photographer, Australian Wedding Photographer, destinations weddings. I shoot candidly in a documentary fashion, listening and watching what's unfolding through the day and anticipating moments of emotion.. During your bridal party portraits I mix in a bit of creative portraiture making it relaxed, timeless and natural with soft gentle guidance and direction for unposed results. I love movement in my images, grain, shadows and blur to help bring a sense of nostalgia and artistic flair. Couples want to book me because memories and images are important to them and they connect with something in my work, on your big day you want to have fun, love, be tender, laugh, cry and dance like no-one is watching.. You want your images truthful, shot how it felt and looked. You also want to take some time to create some epic shots, that may mean climbing a fence, hiking in the bush or climbing rocks.... I love shooting a range of weddings but have a special love for anything a little left of centre.
